Green-lipped mussel
Green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) is a New Zealand shellfish ingredient used in many canine joint formulations. Published canine trials have evaluated GLM preparations in dogs with osteoarthritis, although results vary by preparation and study.
Glucosamine HCl
Glucosamine is widely used in joint supplements. In dogs, one frequently cited randomized double-blind multicentre trial studied glucosamine hydrochloride together with chondroitin sulfate rather than glucosamine alone. That distinction matters when interpreting the evidence.
MSM
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a sulphur-containing compound included in many multi-ingredient joint formulas. It is not part of YuMOVE's standard Adult tablet ingredient list, giving Canine Vita a clearly different formulation approach.
Why combine them?
A combination formula is not automatically superior to a single ingredient. The useful question is what each ingredient contributes, how much is given at the dog's daily serving, and whether the formula and format are appropriate for the dog.

Powder ingredients beyond the core trio
The current powder label also declares chlorella powder, rice flour, oat flour and beef broth powder. The label does not state a quantified collagen content, so this guide does not market the powder as a collagen supplement.
